IPL Photofacial

IPL Photofacial

Improving your appearance can be as simple as getting IPL treatments. This noninvasive cosmetic treatment can eliminate many of the sunspots, broken capillaries, and acne scars that can take away from a person’s true beauty. We’re happy to offer this treatment to people who want a better way to enhance the way they look.

How it works

Using broad-spectrum polychromatic light, the IPL sends pulses with a predetermined wavelength and intensity to the treated area (face, neck, décolleté, back, arms and legs). The wavelength, pulse duration and number of pulses vary depending on the treatment goals.
IPL involves shining highly concentrated beams of light to the skin. By emitting intense pulsed light (IPL) to the areas of concern, the IPL produces heat that’s absorbed by tissue in the treatment area to achieve the desired outcome. The light targets pigments, and vascular irregularities and smooths out the skin’s tone and texture.

Discover the power of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a non-invasive photorejuvenation therapy used to improve skin colour, texture and elasticity. Photorejuvenation, also known as photofacial, is a technique developed to eliminate brown spots, redness and dilated blood vessels. It is also used to treat acne.

General Questions

There is very little risk of damaging your skin from IPL treatments, also known as photofacials. A photofacial is a non-invasive treatment that saturates the surface of your skin with light to target problem areas and reverse both signs of damage and aging.

Generally, IPL is considered less painful than traditional laser treatments. Many patients describe the sensation as a quick, warm snap, similar to a rubber band flicking against the skin. Professional IPL machines also have integrated cooling systems that cool the skin’s surface during treatment, which significantly reduces discomfort.

The results can be long-lasting, but “permanent” requires clarification. IPL can permanently remove existing targeted sunspots, age spots, or broken capillaries. However, it does not stop the natural aging process or prevent new spots from forming due to future sun exposure. To maintain results, it is crucial to use proper sun protection, and periodic maintenance sessions may be recommended.

Palomar is a well-known brand that produces various high-quality aesthetic devices, including both laser and IPL systems. The treatment described in your text is an IPL Photofacial. This IPL technology is highly effective for treating a wide range of skin concerns, including sun damage, rosacea, age spots, acne, and improving overall skin tone and texture.

While some improvement can often be seen after the first session, a series of treatments is typically required for optimal results. Most people need between 3 to 5 sessions, spaced about 3-4 weeks apart. The exact number of treatments depends on the specific condition being treated, its severity, and your individual skin type and goals.
